i noticed some people have smilies in their posts ...how do you get them? :D

You can post smilies with text shortcuts (you have to learn them) or by clicking on the Post Reply button or the Go Advanced button if you clicked on Quick.

This will bring up a detailed posting page with a smiley box on the right. From here you can select whatever smiley you like inc. playing cards for talking about poker hands.

If you anyone has any suggestions for new smilies they would like, or different shortcuts for the existing ones, just post here and we'll aim to please!

You should see them on the right hand side.

Ok this is weird, smilies are turned on for all but there's something afoot. I'll escalate this to our chief geek for investigation!

Ok, I can see them as admin but not as a user... which suggests a permission issue, but the system doesnt allow for smilies to be assigned to user groups or not so I'm scratching my head. I'll hit google and see if anyone else has these problems...

Ok, if you want to see smilies, you need to enable the WYSIWYG editor...

1. Go to your User CP
2. Edit Options (its on the left)
3. Scroll down until you see the option for what kind of Editor Interface you see... select the WYSIWYG option (its number 2)

I'll see if I cant update everyone automatically but its not trivial!
