Two of our hard working admins here DevilKarl and DevilNic have qualified for the EMOP finals in sunny Malta! (jammy gits!).
I'll keep you guys informed of how they do but lets hope they go deep!
Anyone else out there qualify?? Let me know and we'll try to keep everyone updated with your progress.
It kicks off in an hour, more as it happens!

Both got through to Day 2. Karl with 30bbs and Nic with 40bbs so they are both quite happy with themselves. Karl hit some fishy 2 outer to stay in the tournie but thems the breaks... (fish :p)
Anyone else out there playing or in Malta??

We met up with the other qualifiers for Day 1B and boy were they dressed to the 9's! My red sports shorts and white irish knees didnt really cut it ... anyway, they were still all there after 2 hours and the Devilfishies decided that beer was appropriate. I dont remember much after that but I hope they got through. We're taking them to lunch today so we'll find out then!

Hi guys
We are just back from a fantastic trip to Malta! We made Day 2 but fell short of the money in the end but were really happy with the way we played and were very unfortunate not to have gone deeper with Karl's AA cracked by JJ and my AQ rivered by AT, both all-in preflop.
Great news however as Devilfish player Dave Dyson cashed in 20th place for over €4,000. He showed the patience of a saint skillfully managing to negotiate his short stack all the way through Day 2 and into the money.
We also met up with Devilfish Poker's two Romanian qualifiers Cata and Andrei. Both really cool guys, Andrei got knocked out on Day1 while Cata battled through to the second day. Like me and Karl, however, Cata was eliminated early on Day 2, but life wasn't too bad as we sat in the blazing sunshine overlooking the marina with a few beers to console ourselves from our bad beats. We partied with Cata late into the night in a cool club called the "Shadow Lounge" in Paceville and were joined by Dave for some celebratory drinks on the balcony after he had finished play for the day.
An awesome four days, Malta is a beautiful island, the tournament is really well organised with a great structure and we had a great time every night. Thanks to Cata and Andrei for being excellent representatives of Devilfish Poker and a huge congratulations to Dave Dyson on a great result! EMOP Season 2 starts soon, let's get a Devilfish player's name on the winners list in 2010!

Back from the Malta experience too :biggrin: Got unlucky at the seat draw in day one as I ended up at the table with Potraisers, Prostackers and other similar creatures. However, like Nic said, I made it to the second day, but got busted early by the chipleader. I got it all in preflop with AK and he called with KQ.
So i had to drink my sorrows with Karl and Nic later that night at the player's party in Paceville, the clubzone. Thanks for the drinks guys!
I stayed a couple of days more in order to enjoy the lovely beaches :wink: because during the tournament, the casino was my second home as i got into some sit and go and cash games. Not so juicy although, because i was coolered a couple of times. Had to do a little gambling at the roulette to get back.
To sum up, nice tournament, nice casino, nice island and I was glad to represent Devilfish, hopefully with some better results next time.
